FAQs

What clothes should I wear for Concealed Carry?

Choosing the right clothing for concealed carry is a balance of comfort, concealment, and accessibility. Here's a breakdown of general tips and considerations for different situations and body types:

- Loose-fitting clothing: This is the most crucial tip. Clothes that are too tight will "print," meaning the outline of your firearm will be visible. Opt for a size up or styles that naturally drape away from your body.

- Patterns and darker colors: Patterns (like plaid or Hawaiian prints) and darker colors help break up the outline of your firearm, making any printing less noticeable. Solid, light-colored shirts are generally the least forgiving.

- Layering: An open button-down shirt, a light jacket over a t-shirt adds an extra layer of concealment and can help break up your silhouette.

What is the best position for concealed carry?

Ideally, appendix carry is optimum as you can reach your firearm in almost any position, but 4 O’clock is another solid option.

What is the best lightweight clothing for concealed carry?

We recommend breathable, moisture wicking fabrics that won't hinder performance and movement. The new Vertx Journey Performance Shirts and Expedition shirts are designed for comfort and function. The Trailslacker Pant combines concealed carry function with lots of stretch and breathability.

Do you have to wear bigger pants to conceal carry?

For concealed carry, especially inside the waistband (IWB), you generally need pants with a slightly larger waistband to accommodate the firearm and holster. The exact amount of extra room needed depends on the size of your gun and holster, and some modern stretch fabrics can reduce the need to size up significantly. Vertx increases the size of our EDC and concealed carry pants one inch in the waistline to accommodate a firearm with a holster.
